In November 2021, Lisa International company was about to launch the beauty shopping App in a few month.
The research that I conducted for this project was focused on:
- Validation: Validate the usability of the shopping App
- Use over time: How do participants reacts to the beauty shopping App over a period of time
- Heuristic evaluation
- Usability test
- Diary study
- Satisfaction Surveys
During the iterative design process, we conducted multiple usability testing. Here were what we learned.
- Search function: Some users do not know how to use the search function, so we used light grey text as a hint.
- Waterfall design on the front page: Multiple users complained that the waterfall design was too lengthy and exhausting. We switched to a modern, minimalist design that doesn't overwhelm users.
- Purchase button: Make it more prominent by using a black color and increasing its size.
- Search by categories: Add features like search by brand names and functions.
- Brand identity: Use a black and white color theme to convey the luxurious image of the brand.
- User satisfaction increased by about 20% within two months of the launch
- Sales increased from $210,000 to $1,150,000 quarterly after launch.
